A crime scene
is a location where an
illegal
act took place, and comprises the area from which most of the
physical evidence is retrieved by trained law enforcement
and forensics personnel (crime scene investigators) or in rare
circumstances
forensic scientists. All locations wherein there is the
potential for the recovery of evidence must be handled in the
same manner.
With a humble
beginning in 1974, the Royal Malaysian Police Force established
its own Forensics Laboratory.
The establishment of such facility helped to reduce the workload
of the Chemistry Department and hospital laboratories
nationwide. The forensics team is responsible for forensic
examination of all crime scenes in Malaysia.
